For Diet Check-In #13, I might as well be admitting to a rock bottom of sorts. Why? Well, I’m up three pounds from last week. Yes! Three pounds! That makes this chubby dude sad. I guess I’m still weighing in less than I did when I started this train wreck, so it could be worse.

Of course, yesterday was Thanksgiving. Given that, I’m laboring under the assumption that that was the biggest factor in my weight gain. I am sure that if I were to analyze my week with a little more focus, I might find other contributing factors.

But I’m not going to do that. I am wearing blinders this week. Ignorance is bliss. Blame it all on Thanksgiving. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I ain’t even mad.

SHUT UP, it was thanksgiving’s fault

Seriously though, we’ve got a refrigerator full of leftovers. Some of the remaining ham and turkey has been vacuum sealed and tossed into our chest freezer for a rainy day. But there’s still enough to serve a couple meals a couple times a day for the next three or four days. Never mind the side dishes.

Let’s put it this way. If next Friday, the scale shows me any number below today’s 263, I’ll be surprised. On the other hand, I fully intend to reboot my goals starting next week. So I’ve got that going for me. I’m not going to wait for New Years Day to start over. These are old goals that I just happened to stray away from for a short spell. I’d best get back on track.

That’s all I have to say about Diet Check-In #13. Hopefully I’ll have better news with #14. I suspect week #15 is when I might more realistically hope to see favorable numbers again.
