This is my 2020 Diet – Week 13 check-in. I’m going to keep it short and sweet. Why? Because, I just finished my Week 12 check-in two minutes ago. I’m behind a bit. What can I say? Have you seen what’s going on in the world? I’ve been distracted.

Work was busy. Hectic, really. I am a web developer and I work for a local news station. Our site traffic has been higher lately than I’ve ever seen it. Everyone keeps checking in for the latest coronavirus coverage and what it means for folks locally. We’ve been streaming daily announcements from the governor and that had traffic quite high. The biggest day was when he announced a “shelter in place” order. I watched traffic spike up to five times higher than a typical day. The site went down. It was stressful, but it certainly kept us busy.

Outside of work, I continue to struggle with switching gears. When I shut the laptop down for the day, I don’t have a lot of motivation for sticking to a strong diet and exercise regimen.

The Official Weigh-in:

In a nutshell, I’m surprised to report another loss. Yesterday, I came in at 257.0 even. It’s less than a pound from last week, but that is nothing short of a miracle. I got virtually no cardio in, ate whatever I wanted, and drank beer every night. I can only assume the state of the world has me somehow losing weight by stress.

I’ll take what I can, although I’ll still have to come in under 256.0 for my end-of-month check-in on Tuesday if I expect to keep meeting my goals for 2020.
